I have owned 5294 for the last 4 years and have worked to get restored, but the last year or two have been slow going. Especially since hurricane Katrina. Still gathering parts in spite of little hands on work. Hopefully will get back to assembly in the next few months when life gets back to normal. Engine, transmission, and differentials all restored and ready and most other parts are ready to assemble. The tub has been near completion for the last year but have made little progress to finish.

On 22nd December, GPA 7228 arrived at its new home after the long trek from Massachusetts, USA across to the west coast, and then a boat ride to Australia via Taiwan. It was quite a sight for locals on the back of a truck going to my shed. Its an exciting project to have and the plan is to get it swimming.
GPA 7228 has had an interesting history and is very well travelled. By way of Lend Lease in WWII, it was employed in British service in India/ Burma. In about in the 1996 it made its way to RR Motor Services in Kent, England from Bangalore after being purchased from now notorious Girish Naidu, a central figure in the mystery export from India of a german ME109 fighter in about 2006. In about 2004, David Ursin brought 7228 to the USA from England. |

Surfshield, capstan,Transfer with PTO,deck plates, windscreen, rudder, propellor etc. But !, most important; the hull is in remarkeble condition and the frame is as new !! The hull had some repairs and they have to be finished. A day of work and the hull is ready ! Off course there are some parts needed but nothing that could hold the project."
